Mt. Arayat rises abruptly from the Pampanga plain, making the transition from lowland park to mountain forest especially noticeable. Begin inside Mt. Arayat National Park, climb past the South Peak trail area and continue toward South Peak. This is a harder forest hike than the open ridges of Batulao or Balagbag.
